Music Crossing Borders was born out of a passion for performance and education, as well as an understanding of how children learn best. It was derived from the understanding of the vast importance music education plays in every child's life: the affects it has on a child's behavior, self-esteem and, perhaps most of all, academic performance. Everyone who has observed MCB programs agrees: the children are having so much fun and are so engaged, they often don't realize they're learning!
Children have a natural affinity toward music and they learn best under one condition: when they're excited about the material.
Many wonderful music programs exist with the intention of teaching children about different genres of music. What these programs lack is a relationship between the way children learn and what's being performed on stage.
Children of all ages need excitement and engagement. They need to be a part of what's going on rather than being lectured to or expected to hold their attention span through a forty-five minute concert.
MCB is built upon an understanding and passion for the importance of music in the academic world, a love of performing and an overriding desire to pass on this education to children.
Our slogan says it all: 6.8 Billion People - One Language - One World
